THE CAPTAIN OF THE PORT OHIO VALLEY HAS ESTABLISHED A SAFETY ZONE FOR
THE BROADWAY BRIDGE DEMOLITION. A FULL RIVER SAFETY ZONE WILL BE IN EFFECT ON
THE KENTUCKY RIVER FROM MILE MARKER 65.5 TO MILE 66 ON JULY 17th, 2025 FROM
0600 TO 2200, AND FROM 0600 ON JULY 22nd, 2025 TO 2200 ON AUGUST 2nd, 2025.
VESSELS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO TRANSIT THIS AREA WITHOUT THE PERMISSION OF THE
U.S. COAST GUARD OR THE ON SCENE CONTRACTORS MONITORING CHANNEL 68.
Kentucky River Lock #4 will open on Friday, June 13, 2025, at 10:00 am. We will only operate Lock #4 in Frankfort at this time. Please see the 2025 Lock Schedule below. The locking hours are Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 10:00 am until 7:15 pm.
Kentucky River Locks #1, #2 and #3 will be closed until further notice as we continue to replace equipment and make repairs.
The Kentucky River Authority announces its 2024-2026 watershed grants to local non-profits who are helping us improve water quality throughout the Kentucky River Basin. A total of $35,000 was awarded to eight recipients who will be working on local initiatives.
